Egyptian lychee opens a short and beautiful window each early summer. Bright red skin, translucent white flesh, and an intensely sweet floral flavour that buyers position as a premium-retail and food-service specialty. The season is tight — June through July — and the cold chain is unforgiving: harvested at full colour, pre-cooled within hours, and shipped at 1–2 °C under high humidity. Air freight is the standard route to retail shelves with maximum shelf life. Brix lands reliably at 18+, with diameters in the 2–5 cm range.
